Legends change game time Saturday so fans can watch Wildcats

April 1, 2014

Baseball season in Lexington is only one day away.

The Lexington Legends open the 2014 season at home on Thursday night, when they host the West Virginia Power at Whitaker Bank Ballpark at 7:05.

The Legends announced this season's roster on Sunday and brought the team together for a workout after media day activities on Tuesday.

The squad boasts a pair of top-20 prospects in the parent club Kansas City Royals' operation. Outfielder Elier Hernandez, 19, is ranked as the Royals' 11th-best prospect by MLB.com. Infielder Humberto Arteaga, who spent part of 2013 with the Legends, returns and is ranked No. 19.

The Legends play home games against West Virginia on Thursday through Sunday. The home stand continues with games Monday through Wednesday next week against Rome.

The time of Saturday's Legends game has been changed from 7:05 p.m. to 4:05 because of the University of Kentucky's Final Four basketball game at 8:49 p.m.

"We are proud to accommodate all of the sports fans in this area so they can cheer on their Legends and Wildcats," said Legends President/COO Andy Shea. "We are all looking forward to a fantastic sports day in the Bluegrass!"
