Richmond police arrested five people on various drug charges early Wednesday morning after uncovering what officers described as several meth labs at a local motel.

Police said Anthony DeBord, 44; Carolyn Eckler, 33; and Bobbi Evans, 30, all of Richmond, were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Douglas Pearson, 24, and Amber Dean, 21, were charged with complicity to manufacture meth, police said.

Police said Bobbi Evans also was charged with second-degree possession of a forged instrument under an outstanding warrant. Anthony Debord also was charged with flagrant non-support under an outstanding warrant, police said.

Assistant Police Chief Robert Mott said the arrests occurred after officers went to Belair Motel on Lexington Road in Richmond about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday in response to reports of meth being manufactured there.

Officers went to a room at the motel and discovered "several one-step meth labs in plain view," according to a news release.

Police determined that someone had rented three rooms at the motel, including the room where the meth labs were found.

Mott said police initially detained at least seven people, who were decontaminated by the police department's meth lab cleanup team.

Cleanup of the site continued late Wednesday morning, police said.
