A Lexington man is due in Fayette District Court on Thursday afternoon on a charge of sexual abuse involving a child.

Police arrested Aaron Felix Walker, 40, Wednesday afternoon at his apartment in Lexington, according to documents filed in court.

The court filings indicate that Walker's arrest followed a police investigation dating to last fall.

The charge stems from an alleged sexual assault involving a 4-year-old child at a Lexington motel about Aug. 20, 2013, according to an affidavit filed by Lexington police.

Walker acknowledged during an interview with police that he attempted a sexual act with the child, the affidavit says.

According to the document, Walker told police he was a non-commissioned army officer and drill instructor at Fort Knox at the time.
