Lexington man accused of trafficking heroin in Scott and Fayette counties

A part-time resident of Lexington is suspected of trafficking heroin in Scott and Fayette counties, Kentucky State Police said in a release.

Norshawn Michael Duplessis, 39, was charged Wednesday with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute and lodged in the Fayette County jail.

Detectives from Kentucky State Police Post 12 in Frankfort and the Scott County sheriff's office accused Duplessis. Duplessis is a resident of Detroit but lives part-time in Lexington.

On Wednesday, a search warrant was executed at the Duplessis' residence on Garden Springs Drive in Lexington. Officers seized more than 11 ounces of heroin, about 9 grams of cocaine, drug packaging paraphernalia, a handgun and more than $57,500 in cash.

The heroin seized from Duplessis' residence has an estimated street value of more than $44,000.
