Kentucky Gives Day raises $440,424 for nonprofits

April 11, 2014

The second annual Kentucky Gives Day, a 24-hour online giving event to benefit participating Kentucky not-for-profit agencies, raised a grand total of $440,424. That was more than $110,000 over last year's inaugural event.

"We are absolutely thrilled with the way Kentuckians responded to the second Kentucky Gives Day," said Danielle Clore, executive director of Kentucky Nonprofit Network, Inc., in a statement from the organization, which coordinated the event. "The generosity of Kentuckians, near and far, was amazing — showing tremendous pride in their Kentucky home."

More than 400 not-for-profit groups representing arts, environment, health, children, animal welfare, humanitarian aid and other causes participated in the event.

The donations came from more than 3,200 donors and went to 308 not-for-profit organizations throughout the state.
