Beattyville woman found dead after house fire

A woman was found dead after firefighters extinguished a fire at her home Friday night on Main Street in Beattyville.

State police and Lee County firefighters found the body of Belle Hollar, 79, while searching her home after the fire, according to a news release from state police.

State police were called just after 9:30 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Lee County Coroner Earl Ray Shuler said an autopsy was being conducted, and he didn't yet know the cause of death.

He said foul play has not been ruled out.
