The Jessamine County Health Department will sponsor diabetes self-management training from 9:30-11:30 a.m., Thursday at 215 East Maple Street, Nicholasville. The training will be repeated at the same time April 24. The class will explain diabetes medicines, high and low blood sugars, monitoring, foot care, long-term complications, healthy eating habits and more. The classes are offered through the Kentucky Diabetes Prevention and Control Program. Call (859) 885-4149, Ext. 1027, to register for the class.

Wine and Vine Fest needs volunteers

The Kentucky Wine & Vine Fest is seeking volunteers to work as wine pourers, parking helpers and in other positions. The 11th annual festival will be May 17 in downtown Nicholasville.
