Two men were hospitalized after a car hit a tree Tuesday night in Laurel County.

Cameron Harville, 23, of London, is was listed in critical condition at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. Michael Cornett, 23, of London, was listed in fair condition.

Both men were injured about 8 p.m. Tuesday, when a car Harville was driving ran off Wyan Road about five miles west of London, the Laurel County Sheriff's Department said.

Deputies said the Nissan 350 Z was traveling south when it went out of control, left the road, continued about 114 feet and struck a tree head-on. The Nissan traveled 44 feet farther before stopping, officers said.

Harville was ejected from the vehicle, according to deputies. He was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital in London, then was flown to UK.

An investigation into the cause of the wreck continues, the sheriff's department said.
