Incoming Wildcats strut stuff at Jordan Brand Classic

April 18, 2014

None of Kentucky's signees were starters in the Jordan Brand Classic all-star event, but each of them made a mark as the East team defeated West 158-147 in a game where defense played little part.

Tyler Ulis came off the bench for the West to score nine points and dish out a team-high nine assists to go with six rebounds. The 5-9 point guard continued his strong play against larger opponents.

Teammate Devin Booker, a 6-5 wing player, had a poor shooting night — making just 2 of 8 from the field — but he made 6 of 6 from the free-throw line, finishing with 11 points in 13 minutes.

For the winning East team, Trey Lyles was among seven players in double figures, scoring 17 points and blocking two shots during an efficient shooting night. Lyles made all four free throws, sank his only three-point attempt and made 6 of 8 from the field.

Seven-footer Karl-Anthony Towns joined Lyles on the East team, adding nine points and seven rebounds for the winners in 15 minutes on the court.
