Shots fired into house; three women inside escape injury

Three people escaped injury when shots were fired into a Lexington apartment early Monday morning, police said.

Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said officers initially went to the 500 block of Hollow Creek Road about 1:20 a.m. Monday, after receiving "multiple" 911 calls about shots fired.

Then, shortly after 2 a.m., a woman called to report that two bullets had entered her Hollow Creek Road apartment through a window, Roberts said. Bullets struck an interior wall and some items on a kitchen counter, Roberts said.

The woman and two friends in her apartment were not hit, Roberts said. Police took wanton endangerment reports from all three people, she said.

No vehicle was seen and, at this point, police have no suspects, Roberts said.

Several similar, seemingly random shooting cases have been reported on various Lexington streets over the past few weeks.

"It's something we are looking into," Roberts said.
