Rockcastle man kills himself after wounding estranged wife

A Rockcastle County man apparently shot himself to death Monday morning after shooting and wounding his estranged wife, Kentucky State Police said.

Troopers found Roger Baker, 46, a short distance from where he had shot Rhonda P. Baker, 43, according to the London state police post.

It happened about 7:30 a.m. Monday on Red Hill Road in Rockcastle County.

Roger Baker died at the scene, state police said.

Rhonda Baker was reported in fair condition Monday afternoon at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

Her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, state police said.

Both Bakers were from the Livingston community in Rockcastle County, according to officials.

The shooting occurred during an altercation, state police said.
