Topic of forum: heroin use

The Woodford County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy will present Time to Talk, a community forum to discuss heroin use within the community and to hear from community leaders about a disturbing drug trend. The event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. April 28 at Bluegrass Community and Technical College's Versailles campus, 300 North Main Street. The forum is free. Early American Kitchen Garden series starts

Heirloom plant producer Cathy Anderson of Canewood Farm was the speaker at the first installment of the Early American Kitchen Garden Series at the Jack Jouett House Historic Site on April 13. She presented a program on Forgotten Plants of the Garden and distributed cutting celery and ground cherry seedlings with cultivation instructions to attendees. She will present the next program in the series, Kitchen Garden Saffron, on June 21. The Early American Kitchen Garden Series is sponsored by the Jack Jouett House Historic Site in partnership with the Woodford Herbalists Club.
