Carter County woman shot; husband charged with attempted murder

Kentucky State police charged a Carter County man with attempted murder Monday, after he allegedly shot and wounded his wife over the weekend.

Robert A. Tackett, 47, of Olive Hill, was being held in the Carter County jail, according to the Ashland state police post.

Troopers said his wife, Lisa Tackett, 49, suffered a single gunshot wound to the neck during a domestic dispute Saturday. She was treated at an area hospital and is in stable condition, they said.

According to police, the shooting occurred about 9:45 a.m. Saturday at a home on Eastland Drive in Olive Hill.

State police conducted an investigation after the Olive Hill Police Department requested assistance with the case.

According to state police, Robert and Lisa Tackett got into an argument that became physical, then Robert Tackett shot his wife.
