A body was found Wednesday inside a house in rural Wayne County.

The Wayne County coroner's office said Thursday that the body has not been identified, pending an autopsy in Frankfort.

According to a news release from the Kentucky State Police post at London, a Pulaski County deputy sheriff who was following up on a missing-person investigation discovered the body about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at a house on Brammer Hill Road in Wayne County.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Department was referring all questions to state police Thursday afternoon.

The house where the body was found was unoccupied, the Wayne County Coroner's office said.

A spokeswoman at the coroner's office said preliminary indications suggested that the person might have been dead for two months.
