A search for a missing woman in Pulaski County might be connected to a body that was found in Wayne County Wednesday, sheriff's deputies said.
The Pulaski County Sheriff's Department said its search for an elderly Pulaski County woman who has been missing for several months led deputies to a house on Brammer Hill Ridge Road in Wayne County, where the body was found Wednesday afternoon.
The Pulaski department did not release the name of the missing woman.
Meanwhile, an investigation continues to determine the identity of the body in Wayne County and the cause of death. The Kentucky State Police post at London and the Wayne County Coroner's office are heading up that effort.
The London state police post said an autopsy is scheduled for Friday in Frankfort.
The Wayne coroner's office said Thursday that the person whose body was found on Brammer Hill Ridge Road appeared to have been dead about two months.
"We are working closely with KSP detectives and the coroner's office in Wayne County," said Lt. Detective Brett Whitaker with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department.
"If and when we obtain a positive identification that this is our missing person, we will then release further details into the circumstances of our investigation in Pulaski County," Whitaker said.
