Police say the drivers are witnesses to the killings of 48-year-old Kathy Netherland and her 16-year-old daughter Samantha, according to a news release.

The two were slain about 8 p.m. Monday, and their bodies were found at 5120 Springfield Road in Bardstown about 10:40 a.m. Tuesday. The cause of death was not released.

According to the release, the vehicles were seen in Nelson County traveling north on U.S. 150 from the Botland community into the city limits of Bardstown on Monday night.
