A 25-year-old man has been charged in a series of thefts of tailgates from pickup trucks in Laurel County.

Detectives from the Laurel County Sheriff's Department arrested Travis North of London on Tuesday night about 10 miles west of London.

He is charged with receiving stolen property of less than $10,000.

Deputies said the arrest followed "numerous" cases of tailgates being taken from pickup trucks around Laurel County. Officers said they determined that North had visited several car lots in the county, trying to sell some of the stolen tailgates.

North's girlfriend, Kalyn Rednour, was arrested on a charge of theft by deception, officers said.
