Woman found dead in room at Lexington motel

May 4, 2014

Lexington police were investigating Sunday after a woman was found dead Saturday in a room at America's Best Value Inn on Versailles Road.

Police did not release the name of the woman or the cause of death pending an autopsy, but they said she was white and in her 30s.

Police said that death was suspicious and that a struggle in the room had been reported earlier Saturday.

An inn employee found the unresponsive woman shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday when she went to clean the room, police said. The employee had been told that the car registered to the room was not in the parking lot, and the employee thought it would be a good time to clean the room.

Police said anyone with information about the identity of the dead woman or who she was with earlier in the day should contact them.
