A rabies vaccination clinic will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Douglass Park, 726 Georgetown Street. Vaccinations will cost $3 per animal. All cats must be in carriers, and all dogs must be on leashes. In the event of inclement weather, the clinic date is subject to change. The Carnegie Center is in need of tutors for its Summer Tutoring Program that helps students in grades K-12 one hour a week for seven weeks beginning June 16. Free stroke screenings
Baptist Health Lexington Hospital will offer free stroke screenings from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday near the Dillard's inside entrance at Fayette Mall. No appointment is necessary.
The stroke screening involves a check of risk factors for stroke and an assessment of blood pressure, pulse, blood glucose and total cholesterol. Staff also will check for signs of narrowing in the carotid artery.

Komen Lexington gives 1-year grants
The Lexington Affiliate of Susan G. Komen has awarded grants to 15 Kentucky-based organizations funding potentially lifesaving screening, patient navigation, treatment support and treatment programs. Since the affiliate's inception in 1996, Komen Lexington has helped fund $4.5 million for local programs.
The organizations receiving one-year grants from Komen Lexington are: Kentucky Cancer Link (formerly Kentucky Pink Connection), Our Lady of Bellefonte, Saint Joseph Breast Care, Saint Joseph Berea Foundation, Saint Elizabeth Medical Center, Saint Joseph London Foundation, Dayspring Family Health Center, Kings Daughters Medical Center, Saint Claire Medical Center, Marcum and Wallace Memorial Hospital, Laurel County Health Department, Blessed Beyond Measure, Lake Cumberland District Health Department, YMCA of Central Kentucky, and Cumberland Valley District Health Department.
