Jessamine County: R.J. Corman 5K to benefit Chrysalis House

The R.J. Corman 5K Run/Walk to benefit Chrysalis House will be May 17 at the R.J. Corman Railroad Group, 101 R.J. Corman Drive, Nicholasville. Register online at or call (859) 977-2502.

Online registration will be available until 5 p.m. May 15 for $20. Packet pickup will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. May 14 and noon-4 p.m. May 15 at Chrysalis House Community Center, 1589 Hill Rise Drive.

Race day registration, at a cost of $25, will open at 7:30 a.m. at the race site. Events will begin at 9 a.m.

The top three male and female finishers will receive $750 for first place, $250 for second and $100 for third. There will be five random drawings for $200 each.

Discount swim memberships

The Jessamine County Aquatic Center is offering Beat-the-Heat family swim memberships at a discounted rate through Friday. With the discount, family passes are available for $150 instead of $180. To take advantage of the special price, visit the YMCA office at 220 East Maple Street between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Call (859) 885-5013 for more information.

Online jobs workshop

Learn how to use a computer to search for jobs online in a workshop at 6:30 p.m. May 6 at the Jessamine County Public Library, 600 South Main Street, Nicholasville. The workshop will cover the best job search websites, basic search techniques and how to create an email job alert. Must have basic computer skills and be able to use a mouse and keyboard confidently. Register at or call (859) 885-3523.
