UK men to meet EKU for first time since 2006

The University of Kentucky men's basketball team continued to reveal details of its 2014-15 schedule Thursday, when it announced a matchup with Eastern Kentucky.

The Wildcats will take on the Colonels on Dec. 7 in Rupp Arena.

The game time and TV network will be announced at a later date.

The December meeting will be the 11th between UK and EKU and the 10th in Rupp Arena. Kentucky leads the series 10-0.

EKU went 24-10 last season, winning the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament and a trip to the NCAA Tournament. The 15th-seeded Colonels fell to No. 2 seed Kansas 80-69 after keeping the game close most of the way.

The Cats and Colonels last met during the 2006-07 season, with UK winning 78-65 in Rupp Arena.

In addition to UK's matchup with EKU, the Wildcats have announced dates with Kansas (Nov. 18), Texas (Dec. 5) and UCLA (Dec. 20) as part of the 2014-15 non-conference regular-season schedule.
