An 11-year-old girl was injured after falling from a zipline at the Red Mile on Saturday night.

The girl suffered non-life-threatening injuries after falling 16 to 18 feet at about 8 p.m., said Battalion Chief Joe Best of the Lexington Fire Department.

Best said fire officials did not know what caused the girl to fall, but he said it occurred "very close to the starting point."

The Crawfish Festival was going on at the Red Mile when the accident occurred. The mobile zipline attraction was shut down after the incident.

The Herald-Leader's reporting partner, WKYT-TV, reported that police and firefighters found a broken carabiner clip on the girl's harness.
