UK softball to host Ohio on Friday in NCAA tourney opener

    Game 4: Game 1 loser vs. Game 2 loser, 3:30 p.m.

    Game 5: Game 3 loser vs. Game 4 loser, 6 p.m.

    Sunday

    Game 6: Game 3 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 1 p.m.

    Game 7: If necessary, 3:30 p.m.

Kentucky's softball team received an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament for the sixth consecutive season. The No. 14-seeded Wildcats will host a double-elimination regional that includes James Madison, DePaul and Ohio.

The Lexington Regional, which will run Friday through Sunday at John Cropp Stadium, will start with James Madison facing DePaul at 5:30 p.m. Friday. UK's opening matchup with Ohio will follow at 7:30 p.m.

UK (44-15) is having its best season in program history, setting a school record for wins in a season. The Cats reached the finals of the SEC Tournament before losing to Georgia.

The winner of the Lexington Regional will advance to a Super Regional against the winner of the Los Angeles Regional, which includes No. 3 seed UCLA.

All-session reserved seats for the regional are $30 for ages 2 and older. General admission is $20. Single-session tickets will only be sold based on availability.
