UK basketball team to play Pikeville and Georgetown in exhibitions

May 13, 2014

The Kentucky basketball team will play the University of Pikeville on Nov. 2 and Georgetown College on Nov. 7 in exhibition games to start the 2014-15 season. Both games will be in Rupp Arena.

Kentucky, which lost to Connecticut in the NCAA Tournament championship game, is expected to again be one of the top teams in the nation.

Georgetown coach Chris Briggs was a UK student manager from 2001-04 and a graduate assistant from 2004-06.

This is the first time since the 2004-05 season that both of UK's exhibitions are against in-state schools.
