Lexington man shot in back while in bed

A man was struck by a bullet Wednesday night while in bed at his apartment, Lexington police said.

The victim was wounded in the back when someone fired several shots through the door of his apartment, police Lt. Mark Brand said Thursday morning. The victim's injury did not appear to be life-threatening, Brand said.

The shooting happened just before midnight at an apartment on Bryan Avenue, police said.

The investigation is continuing, but police have no description of the shooter, Brand said.
