A crew with Lexington's Parks and Recreation Department painted lane markings on the bottom of the Shillito Park pool Monday. The city's four aquatic centers, Castlewood, Southland, Tates Creek and Woodland, will open at noon Saturday. The remaining pools — Shillito, Douglass and Picadome — will open May 31.

The Shillito pool is the city's largest: 50 meters long. In addition to a paint job, the pool received a new shade canopy in preparation for swim season.

Daily admission to all of the pools except Shillito is $4 for ages 15 and younger, $5 for ages 16 and older. Shillito's admission is $3 for ages 15 and younger, and $4 for ages 16 and older.

Children 1 and younger can use the pools for free.
