Business awards: Week of June 2

Joe Roberts, independent insurance and investment adviser and vice president of Roberts Insurance & Investments in Richmond, has qualified for the Top of the Table, the most elite level of membership in the Million Dollar Round Table. MDRT is an international, independent association of more than 38,000 of the leading life insurance and financial service professionals worldwide. Members of the Top of the Table represent less than five percent of the entire membership of MDRT.

Amelia Martin Adams, an attorney with DelCotto Law Group, has been named the 2014 Outstanding Young Lawyer by the Fayette County Bar Association. This award is given to a young Fayette County attorney who has demonstrated promise in learning the practical application of law to human problems, fulfilled the duties owed by an attorney to the court, clients and the community and a dedication to the justice system through involvement in and enhancement of community life. Adams is trained as a mediator, is president of the Junior League of Lexington, and was recently nominated to serve on the board of directors for the Fayette County Bar Association.

Baptist Health Lexington has received the Mission: Lifeline Gold Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks.

Baptist Health Lexington earned the award by meeting specific criteria and standards of performance for the quick and appropriate treatment of STEMI — or ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, caused by a complete blockage of blood flow to the heart — patients to open the blocked artery.

Baptist Health Lexington has also been named the recipient of its 2014 Employer Recognition Award by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corp. Each year, this award recognizes one institution that employs 25 or more registered nurses for providing sustained support of oncology nursing certification.

In 2012, Baptist Health Lexington achieved a goal of 100 percent certification for all eligible nurses in their outpatient cancer care settings. The hospital is working toward 100 percent certification for 2014 and anticipates reaching that goal in November.

The accolade, which honors hospitality excellence, is given to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor.
