Jessamine County notes: June 3

June 2, 2014

A Round to Remember golf tourney at Connemara is June 14

The 3rd annual Alzheimer's Association Round to Remember Kentucky Golf Classic will be June 14 at Connemara Golf Course in Nicholasville.

The tournament is limited to 144 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants will be served lunch, play 18 holes of golf with cart, receive a complimentary gift bag and have the opportunity to win prizes.

The tournament is produced by local golfer and association supporter Paul Bimschleger and his family. Bimschleger lost his wife, Patricia, in 2011 to Alzheimer's disease. He and his family have raised more than $40,000 for the Alzheimer's Association since 2012.

The Alzheimer's Association's A Round to Remember works to educate people about Alzheimer's and to raise awareness for the nearly 100,000 families in our community living with Alzheimer's disease.

Proceeds from A Round to Remember help provide essential services to these families, including a 24-hour helpline, early stage workshops, support groups, family consultations, referrals, caregiver training.
