An assailant fired several shots at a man in Lexington mobile home park Monday night, but it was the victim who ended up in custody.

Police Lt. Raymond Roller said officers arrested Jacob Jones, 33, of Lexington, on unrelated warrants, plus a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia.

No one was hit during the shooting, police said.

The altercation began about 9:30 p.m. Monday, at the Eastland Mobile Home Court just off New Circle Road, according to police.

A dispute broke out over an apparent attempted drug transaction, according to Roller. At that point, a the other man apparently fired a number of gunshots at Jones, and then fled in a black Chevy, he said.

That man remains at large, according Roller. Police arrested Jones later at a nearby motel.

An investigation is continuing.
