State police charged a juvenile with murder Friday after a 4-month-old boy was found dead outside a house in Neon in Letcher County, according to a news release.

Dispatchers received a call at 5:16 a.m. reporting that the baby was missing from a house on Turner Drive. Police and others searched for the infant, whose body was located at 6:40 a.m. over an embankment behind the house, according to Kentucky State Police.

Letcher County Coroner Marty Baker said preliminary autopsy results show the child died of blunt force trauma to the head.

The investigation led detectives to charge a juvenile with murder, state police said. Police did not release the juveniles' name, age or gender, and did not say how the suspect was related to the baby.

They also did not say how the baby's fatal head injury occurred.
