Two people were injured in a Lexington shooting early Saturday morning.

Police Lt. Raymond Roller said officers responded to a report that shots were heard near Corral Street at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday. After talking to people near the scene, officers received another call at nearly 4 a.m. from the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital emergency room where two gunshot victims were taken.

The patients, whose injuries were not life threatening, said they were shot by someone in an unknown vehicle near Corral, according to police.

A car covered with bullet holes was also found at the intersection of South Limestone Street and Avenue of Champions Saturday morning. Roller said officers are still investigating the abandoned vehicle and seemingly unrelated incident.
