Two hurt in single-car crash early Monday in Lexington

Two people were injured early Monday when an SUV crashed into a utility pole, Lexington police said.

Police Lt. Mark Brand said it happened shortly after 2 a.m., when the SUV went out of control on Alexandria Drive near Trailwood Lane.

Two occupants were taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where they were listed in serious condition, Brand said. At least one person required surgery.

An investigation is continuing.
