Local officers offer doughnuts to raise money for Special Olympics

Several police agencies joined together Friday to raise money for Special Olympics by helping to sell doughnuts and collect contributions. Officers participating came from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Kentucky State Police, Transylvania University, University of Kentucky, Lexington's Division of Community Corrections and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run Cops on Doughnut Shops fund-raising event was held at Krispy Kreme on Richmond Road from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The money goes to Special Olympics Kentucky.
