Jessamine County: Six seniors receive Rotary Club scholarships

Rotary scholarships awarded Six Jessamine County High School seniors each received an $850 college scholarship from the Nicholasville Rotary Club. Scholarship awards were based on student achievements inside and outside the classroom as well as their embodiment of the Rotary's "service above self" motto. Funds for the scholarship are raised through the Rotary Club's annual pancake breakfast and individual member donations. Recipients for 2014 are, from left, Felicia Farmer, Daniel Like Sherfy, Steven Michael Zajdlik and Sarah Danielle Warren. Warren was also the Joe McMurtry Community Service Scholar. Recipients not pictured are Abbey M. Bowe and Mia Zanzucchi.
