Shakertown hosts antiques sale, tours

Blue enamelware and other accessories were displayed at the Antiques Show & Sale at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in the past. This year's event is Saturday and Sunday.

More than 50 dealers from across the country will exhibit and sell merchandise Saturday and Sunday at the 12th annual Antiques Show & Sale at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in Harrodsburg. Pieces will include period Shaker artifacts, decorative arts and furniture, silver, jewelry, quilts, garden sculpture, and fine and folk art.

Admission is $10 for ages 13 and older, $5 for ages 6 to 12, and free for age 5 and younger. Admission includes entrance to the show, as well as daily tours and programs at Shaker Village.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

In conjunction with the Antiques Show and Sale, Shaker Village will host "Coffee With the Collection" at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Guests will have the chance to see objects from Shaker Village's 10,000-piece collection. The tour will include refreshments and access to collections storage spaces not open to the public.

The registration fee for Coffee With the Collection is $25 and includes admission to the village and the antiques show. Preregister for the program at Shakervillageky.org or by calling 1-800-734-5611.

Thoroughbred Antique Gallery, at 637 East Main Street, will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a storewide sale Friday through June 30.

■ The Versailles Merchants Association's Friday Night Block Party series continues Friday. Local shops will remain open late as Tom Cool and the Cooligans will perform 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at West Green Street off North Main Street in Versailles. Food and drink vendors will be on site.

Lorac cosmetics has followed up its popular Pro Palette of eye shadows with the Pro Palette 2. The palette features eight shimmer and eight matte shades in cool tones and comes with a mini Behind the Scenes Eye Primer. It retails for $42.

The palette, which launched June 15 at Ulta.com. will be available in stores June 29.
