Lexington police arrested two men on robbery and other charges Thursday night after stopping a speeding car.

Lt. Raymond Roller said police received a report of shots fired on Trent Circle about 11:15 p.m.

An officer noticed a car fleeing from that area moments later, he said.

Police later stopped the car on Centre Parkway after someone tossed a firearm out of the vehicle, Roller said.

Timetrius Lavell Stewart, 23, was charged with robbery, assault, careless driving and reckless driving, police said.

Jermaine Tucker, also 23, was charged with robbery, possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence, police said.

The charges stem from a robbery that occurred on Trent Circle shortly before the car was stopped.

Two victims reported that two people robbed them at gunpoint, and the assailants fired two shots as they fled, police said.

A third man, Antonio Woods, was arrested on an unrelated warrant, police said.
