Police have arrested a Lexington restaurant operator on a human trafficking charge.

Officers arrested Javier Ahuatzi, 39, Friday morning at a residence on Georgetown Road in an ongoing investigation, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

Roberts said officers from the police department's Special Victims Section also executed search warrants at the residence and at El Gran Tako restaurant locations at 340 East New Circle Road and 1801 Alexandria Drive.

Ahuatzi is charged with one count of human trafficking, Roberts said.

An investigation in the case is continuing, she said.
