Holiday closings: Fourth of July

Here is how Lexington services are affected Friday by the Fourth of July holiday:

City trash collection: Those who normally have Friday collection will have service Wednesday, July 2.

Businesses that have city waste management services for their Dumpsters with Thursday pickup will have their units picked up Wednesday, July 2. Friday pickups will be Thursday, July 3.

The Lexington Recycling Center, the city's Electronic Recycling Center and the Haley Pike Waste Management facility will be closed Friday.

Lexington city government: Closed.

State government: Closed.

Libraries: Closed.

Lextran: Operating on Sunday schedule.

Mail: No delivery.

Courts: Federal, circuit and district court are closed, but district court is open for bonds and fine payment.

Fayette County Health Department: Closed.
