3,600 entrants expected for Bluegrass 10,000

Lexington is expecting 3,600 entrants for the 38th annual Bluegrass 10,000 Friday.

Among the 2,500 already entered as of Wednesday is 10,000-meter run defending champion Anthony Marchi.

The first race begins at 7:25 a.m. in the Crank and Wheelchair divisions.

The 10,000 meter run begins at 7:30 a.m. followed by the Fun Run at 8:15 a.m.

The 10,000-meter run begins on Main Street and Midland Avenue, finishing on Main Street and North Limestone Avenue.

Race organizers will not accept entries on the day of the race.

The prize is $500 for first place in the male division and female division of the 10,000 meter run and for the first place winner in the male and female Crank and Wheelchair division.

Results will be posted following the race at Kentucky.com. The awards ceremony will be 10:00 a.m. in front of the Fifth Third Pavilion on Main Street.
