A woman died and at least two others were injured in a crash in Laurel County early Saturday.

Trina Angel, 40, of McKee was a passenger in a Chevrolet Blazer that was hit by a Chevrolet pickup at 12:57 a.m., according to a news release from the Laurel County sheriff's office.

The truck was westbound on Ky. 1956 when it dropped off the shoulder of the road and went into a ditch, according to the release. The driver, Darrell Eversole, 31, of London, overcorrected and crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting the Blazer head-on.

Angel was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in London, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Eversole and the driver of the Blazer, Polly Brock, were taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. On Sunday evening, Brock was in serious condition, and Eversole was in fair condition, the hospital said.

James Woolum, 25, of London, was a passenger in the pickup and might have been injured, according to the news release.
