Business awards: Week of July 7

Roger Leonard, left, Louisville field office director for Community Planning and Development HUD, presented Jerry Rickett of Kentucky Highlands Investment Corp. the CPD Director's Award for Innovative Policy.

Elizabeth Woodward of Dean Dorton's Lexington office, has been recognized by the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants for her work on the professional ethics committee. Woodward was presented with a committee chair award for her volunteer service.

Lexington Clinic's physician group and all associate practices have received a three-year accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, becoming the first and only medical group practice in Kentucky to receive this accreditation. AAAHC accreditation is specifically for organizations that provide diagnostic or medical care on an outpatient basis.

Jerry Rickett, president and CEO of Kentucky Highlands Investment Corp. has received the CPD Director's Award for Innovative Policy in recognition of his work in Eastern Kentucky.

Rickett was honored for his work with national, state and local agencies to develop strategies in rural Eastern Kentucky to relieve housing and economic distress. His leadership with the federal Promise Zone initiative also was acknowledged.
