A Perry County man reported missing by his wife last week has been found dead after an apparent accident in his vehicle.

Coy David Banks, 62, of Vicco was reported missing Wednesday, and state police began investigating, according to a news release by state police.

On Saturday, Perry County sheriff's deputies found Banks' body in the 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier he had been driving. Banks apparently was eastbound on a mining road off Georges Branch when he lost control of the vehicle; it went over an embankment and flipped, and Banks was partially thrown from the car, state police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police said toxicology results were pending.
