Lexington police arrested an 18-year-old man after he allegedly drove away from a traffic stop and then crashed his car into two houses.

It happened about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday on Springfield Drive, which is outside of Man o' War Boulevard near Armstrong Mill Road, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

An officer had pulled over Jeffrey Eugene Jackson moments earlier on suspicion of reckless driving, Roberts said. Jackson quickly drove away after stopping.

Soon afterward, police responded to a call that a car had run off the road and crashed into a house at 1545 Springfield Drive. According to Roberts, Jackson's vehicle apparently struck the corner of that house, then ran into a second house and stopped against it.

Jackson was charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license. Roberts said additional charges might be forthcoming.

No injuries were reported.
