Studio Players make 'Honky Tonk Angels'

Studio Players opens the musical comedy Honky Tonk Angels this weekend at the Carriage House Theatre, 154 West Bell Court. The play by Ted Swindley, creator of Always ... Patsy Cline, features country classics including Stand by Your Man, Coal Miner's Daughter, 9 to 5 and I Will Always Love You. Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; 2:30 p.m. Sundays through Aug. 3. Call (859) 257-4929 or go to Studioplayers.org.

Last nights for 'Twelfth Night'

The KCT SummerFest 2014 closes its production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Performances are outdoors at the MoonDance at Midnight Pass amphitheater, 1152 Monarch Street through Sunday. Gates open at 6:45 p.m., show time is at 8. Tickets are $20 for a reserved chair; $10 and $15, to bring your chair; $20 and $40 blanket space for four. Mykct.org.

Fair is on; roadwork, too

Enjoy rides, food, livestock shows, music and more at the Lexington Lions Club Bluegrass Fair at Masterson Station Park, 3051 Leestown Road. Admission is $6, cash only, for adults; free for ages 6 and younger. Gates open at 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through July 20. Lionsclubbluegrassfair.com.

Be advised when traveling to the fair that Leestown Road is undergoing major construction; prepare for delays, especially with the added congestion from the fair.

Last days for horse show

The Lexington Junior League Charity Horse Show wraps up a week of American Saddlebred competition at The Red Mile, 1200 Red Mile Road. Evening sessions start at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. General admission is $10. Lexjrleague.com.

Rick's at the palace

Singer, actor Rick Springfield performs at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Louisville Palace in Louisville. Tickets are $25 to $225. The $225 ticket includes a meet-and-greet reception. Louisvillepalace.com.
