Danville police arrested a 26-year-old man after he allegedly struck his sister-in-law with a vehicle.

It happened about 6 p.m. Wednesday outside a residence on Highland Court, Danville police Capt. Glenn Doan said.

Christopher D. West argued with his sister-in-law, Amanda Snow, outside 114 Highland Court, where both live, Doan said.

As the disagreement became more heated, West got into a vehicle and began backing up, Doan said.

In the process, the rear of the car struck Snow, knocking her down, police said. West then lost control of the car, crossed into another yard and struck the porch of a house at 116 Highland Court, officers said.

West ran off but was arrested later after an off-duty officer spotted him on Second Street, police said.

West is charged with second-degree assault and leaving the scene of an accident, Doan said.

Snow was treated for scrapes and was released from the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, police said.
