A man riding a blue moped was hit by a car Thursday night at a Lexington intersection.

Lexington police officer William Bellomy said the man was traveling in an outbound lane of Winchester Road when he was hit by a red Ford Mustang at Winchester Road and Walton Avenue. The moped rider, whose name was not given, had the right of way. He was conscious and talking as emergency workers loaded him into an ambulance.

Bellomy said the driver told police that she was blinded by the sun while turning left onto Walton.

Police said they don't expect the woman to be charged. However, the man might be charged, because he appeared intoxicated at the time of the wreck, police said.
