Lexington police are investigating two shootings that occurred early Sunday, including one in which a man fleeing the scene nearly hit an officer.

Lt. Jesse Harris said the first shooting happened at 1:49 a.m. outside of Paraiso Latino Nightclub. An Internet search gave the address of the nightclub as 694 East New Circle Road.

Harris said there was a disorder at the nightclub, and a man fired two shots from a pistol toward another man before fleeing in a maroon Nissan Maxima. No one was injured.

The second shooting happened just before 3 a.m. at Art Bar, 815 Euclid Avenue.

Harris said police had been called to help clear a crowd. A man in a silver SUV fired several shots near the crowd and then nearly hit a police officer as he drove away, Harris said.

The shots did not hit anyone.

Kirbye Caldwell, 27, is wanted in that shooting, Harris said.
