Bike ride will benefit Ky. Refugee Ministries

The third annual Walnut Hill Cycling Ride, a Bluegrass Cycling Club event featuring routes of various distances for all levels of riders, will be 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday to benefit Kentucky Refugee Ministries. Walnut Hill Church, 575 Walnut Hill Road, will host the event and seven miles of Walnut Hill Road will be closed from 9-10 a.m. for a family fun ride. Brunch will be served to ride participants.

There is no need to register and no charge to participate in the event, but donations will be accepted. Those making donations of $25 or more will receive a T-shirt. Checks should be made payable to Walnut Hill Church with the word bike in the memo. Helmets will be required for all participants.

Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase bicycles for refugees, who often rely on bicycles as their main form of transportation to work and school.

More information is available at Kyrm.org or Bgcycling.net.
