Investigators search for military honors

— Investigators in Breckinridge County are searching for the person who broke into a military veteran's home southwest of Louisville and took a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

WDRB-TV in Louisville reported ( ) that a coin presented to the soldier by former Vice President Dick Cheney, electronics and guns were also taken from the home on Monday.

Breckinridge County Sheriff Todd Pate says the medals belonged to an Army veteran who served in Iraq, survived a bomb blast and retired two years ago.

Pate says no one was home at the time of the break-in.
