Business awards: Week of July 21

The Brick Industry Association has honored Lexington's Triangle Park as best in class in the paving and landscape architecture category in the 2014 Brick in Architecture Awards. The project architect was Reese Reinhold Design, the brick manufacturer was Pine Hall Brick Co. and the mason contractor was Tramontin and Associates.

The awards recognize the best in brick design across North America as selected by an independent panel of judges. This year there were more than 40 winners in 22 states and Canada.

Janice Mueller, broker/owner of Remax Creative Reality in Lexington, has been listed at No. 3 out of the top 50 brokers in the United States with 37.5 transactions per agent.

■ The following have been named recipients of 2014 Governor's Awards in the Arts, which are given to organizations and individuals who have made significant contributions to the arts in Kentucky and beyond: Judith Jennings, Milner Award; Larnelle Harris, Artist Award; Lexington Center/Rupp Arena Technical Services Staff, Business Award; Market House Theater of Paducah, Community Arts; Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning, Lexington, Education Award; Robert Gates, Frankfort, Folk Heritage Award; City of Danville, Government Award; Constance Alexander, Murray, Media Award; My Morning Jacket, National Award.

Beth Shields, electronic records analyst at the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives has been named the 2014 recipient of the Society of America Archivists Emerging Leader Award.

Created in 2011, SAA's Emerging Leader Award recognizes early career archivists who have completed archival work of broad merit, demonstrated significant promise for leadership and performed commendable service to the archives profession.

In her position at KDLA, Shields works to improve Kentucky's electronic records management policies and procedures. Her contributions help to ensure that Kentucky government records will be properly managed and preserved.

Total Quality Logistics, one of the nation's largest freight brokerage firms, has been awarded the 2014 Great Supply Chain Partner from SupplyChainBrain and Best 3PL for Retail Supply Chains from Eye for Transport.
